Technical Regulations:
All machines must comply with the Technical Regulations of the Manual of Motorcycle Sport
Machine eligibility
- Have an engine capacity of:
- 300cc - 480cc - Three Cylinder, Four stroke engines
- 400cc - Unlimited - Single Cylinder, Two and Four stroke engines
- 230cc-250cc - Two Cylinder, Two stroke engines
- All year model four cylinder 600cc machines are eligible in “3/4 600” configuration provided that the one cylinder is permanently disabled during F3 events and shall be configured such that the rider cannot re-enable this cylinder whilst riding.
Tyres
- Brand, type and quantity is open
Compulsory Modifications
The following must be removed:
- Headlamp
- Tail lamp
- Reflectors
- Horns
- Passenger footrests
- Traffic indicators
- Rear vision mirrors
- Centre and side stands
- Registration plate / bracket and label holder
- Any sharp edges left by the removal of these components must be protected by a rolled edge or beading of minimum 3mm diameter.
- Engine and gearbox breathing hoses and tubes, and the radiator overflow bottle vent, must exhaust into the airbox to the rear of the intakes. The lower airbox breather tube must be blocked.
Permitted Modifications
The following may be removed:
- Passenger handholds and footrest assemblies,
- Instruments and associated cables including key start ignition barrel,
- OEM top rear chain guard and registration plate brackets,
- Air injection pollution control system,
- Carburettor anti-icing device,
- Rear fender,
- Air filter element,
- Steering damper.
Permitted Additions
The following may be added:
- Steering Damper
- Frame protective sliders
- Electronic gear shifters (Quick shifters)
Use of non-OEM parts
The following may be replaced with parts not manufactured by the manufacturer of the machine:
- Fairings, screen, rear body work, seat, mudguards, tank covers and frame side covers may be modified or replaced with aftermarket race units designed to fit any road going machine.
- Mounting bracket for fairing, screen and instruments.
- Spark plug type, leads and caps.
- External gearing
- Brake pads, linings, discs, brake hoses and master cylinder.
- Brake calipers may be exchanged for OEM units supplied by another manufacturer, except in the case of “3/4 600” machines.
- Exhaust system
- Rear suspension springs and damping unit
- Front suspension, springs, damping parts and fork top-caps may be replaced or modified, aftermarket cartridges are not permitted. Front suspension and triple clamp components may be exchanged for OEM units supplied by another manufacturer, except in the case of “3/4 600” machines.
- Fuel metering jets and air filter.
- Gaskets, all clutch components
- Handle bars and handle bar controls. Foot pegs, their mounting brackets and controls.
- Airboxes
- Throttle tube assemblies
- Fasteners
- Wiring loom, Instruments, Switchgear, Battery, Plug in Fuel injection control units, OEM ECU may be reprogrammed
- Cast wheels may be exchanged for other OEM units, except in the case of “3/4 600” machines. There is no restriction on wire spoked wheels.
Modification of OEM parts
- Two cylinder four stroke machines:
- Camshafts may be replaced with other OEM parts or reground
- Throttle bodies may be bored and secondary throttle plates may be removed
- Two Cylinder two stroke machines:
- All engine internals are open
- Single Cylinder machines:
- Camshafts may be replaced with other OEM parts or reground
- Throttle bodies may be bored and secondary throttle plates may be removed
