TRACK/COACHING DAY

INSTRUCTIONS
Morgan Park Raceway

  1. WHEN YOU ARRIVE: Report directly to the Race Secretary in the Scrutineering Bay for registration and further instructions.
  2. Timing Transmitters:
    1. Timing transmitters WILL be available for the purposes of coaching.
    2. Transmitters will be allocated by the timekeeper and fitted to your bike at scrutineering.
    3. You will be required to have a $50 bond before you collect your transmitter. Please bring cash or cheque with you. This bond will be refunded once your transmitter has been returned to the timekeepers after your last track session.
    4. If you do not already have a mounting bracket for the transmitter they are available for $10.
  3. Scrutineering:
    1. All machines must attend Scrutineering. Machines involved in accidents must be re-scrutineered before going back on the circuit. TRANSMITTERS WILL BE FITTED TO YOUR MACHINE AT SCRUTINEERING.
    2. All machines must be either ROADWORTHY (if street bikes) or RACE READY (if race bikes).
    3. The following can be carried out at the track:
      1. Remove or wire up centre stands and use side stand only.
      2. Remove, tape over or turn in rear view mirrors.
      3. Tape or wire passenger pegs in the closed position.
      4. Remove luggage racks, gear sacks etc.
      5. Machines must have headlights, tail lights, turn signals, mirrors and speedometers taped. Registration plates will need to be removed once you arrive at the track.
    4. Fuel: Top up your fuel tank close to the circuit and if you can, bring some spare fuel.
    5. Before your leave home:
      1. Check oil levels, coolant levels;
      2. Tyres must be in good condition and pressure checked as per manufacturers recommendations;
    6. Protective Clothing/Equipment:
      1. Class 1 – Leathers (1 or 2 piece that can be zipped together), motorcycle boots, protective gloves and an Australian Standard approved helmet (undamaged) must be presented at scrutineering. BACK PROTECTORS ARE MANDATORY FOR THIS GROUP.
      2. Class 2 – Leathers (1 or 2 piece that can be zipped together), motorcycle boots, protective gloves and an Australian Standard approved helmet (undamaged) must be presented at scrutineering. BACK PROTECTORS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR THIS GROUP.
      3. Class 3 – Leather Jacket, denim or better pants, ankle boots, protective gloves and an Australian Standard approved helmet (undamaged). BACK PROTECTORS ARE RECOMMENDED FOR THIS GROUP.
      4. If you are unsure of which group to enter for the track day, come prepared for if the Coach feels that you need to move between classes. For example, if you entered Class 2, however the Coach feels that your experience demonstrates that you should be in Class 1, you will require a back protector before we can move you up. The same situation applies with those who have entered Class 3, you will require either 1 or 2 piece leathers and motorcycle boots before you are permitted to progress to a higher group.
4. RIDERS BRIEFING:
    1. ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND RIDERS BRIEFING. Riders not present or in special circumstances not having a representative WILL be excluded from the days event. This may also apply if the mandatory sign-on at Rider’s Briefing is not completed. The riders briefing will be conducted to give all participants an outline of the days proceedings and instruction on how to enter and exit the track, the meaning of all flags, what to do if you have an accident etc and to answer any questions you may have. If you arrive at the track late, please report to the Scrutineering Bay and ask to see Rachael or Danielle.

5. TIME WASTING: This event will run to a strict time schedule. Please do not dawdle on the final lap of the session. You are only causing time delays which may result in less track time.

6. RULES OF CONDUCT:

(These rules are for the safety of all participants and officials, please take note.)

    1. There are to be NO STUNTS, WHEELIES, STOPPIES, BURNOUTS  etc performed by anyone.
    2. There is no alcohol or illegal substances permitted at any time during the event. Offenders will be expelled immediately without refund. No Exceptions.
    3. Do not try to move from your line to allow for faster riders coming from behind – keep your line, they will get around you.
    4. Pay attention to the flag marshals.
    5. The Track Day Supervisor has the right to black flag any person for any reason, black flagged riders must come in immediately.
    6. Only enter the track when instructed to do so by the Pit Marshal.
    7. Keep track of the day’s schedule, listen out for PA announcements.
    8. This is not a race day, this is meant to be a fun, safe and enjoyable day for all. Do not let your behaviour ruin it for others.
    9. The officials on the day are there for your safety, they are all volunteers and as such deserve your respect. They have given of their time to ensure that you enjoy your day. Please thank them if you get the chance.
    10. SPECTATORS are welcome to come along and have a look and are welcome in the pit area as long as they have the appropriate footwear and are over the age of 16yrs.
    11. Pitting on the bitumen apron surrounding the carport bays is strictly prohibited.
    12.  Tyre warmers are permitted.  

    13. The club will provide an industrial generator for use within the carports.  The cost for a powered carport bay is $60.00 for the day.  You will comfortably fit 2 machines in each carport.  Please bring along a power lead of at least 30m to enable you to connect to the power supply.If you wish to supply your own generator, it MUST be 60dbA or less noise output as original equipment manufacture (OEM).  This has been enforced due to the noise issues with private generators. 

    14. The cost for a carport with a privately supplied suitable generator is $35.00 for the day.  

    15. The hard wired power outlets within the carports are not to be utilised for any purpose.

7. CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

    1. Track Days will take place even if it rains, it will be your decision if you choose not to participate. Refunds will not be given in the case of bad weather, this is the one thing that we cannot control. Cancellation of your track day may take place up to seven days prior to the event. Cancellation will only result in a refund at the club’s discretion minus an administration fee of $50.00. Your track day place may be transferred to the next track day to be held if cancelled within seven days prior to the event.
    2. All Cancellations must be requested via a form that is availabe upon request from Motorcycle Sportsmen, as well as on www.motorcyclesportsmen.com.au. This form must be completed and submitted to the club 7 days prior to the event, either via email, fax or post. You must recieve a confirmation reciept from this in order for your request to be valid.  All cancellations must go to the management comittee and ma y take up to 30 days to complete.  NB. Credit notes are not redeemable for cash at  a later date.
